About Me


Dr. Jane Yoo is Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Yoo  is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Her aesthetic practice includes treatments for scarring, pigmentation issues, wrinkles, varicose veins, stretch marks, fat removal and overall skin rejuvenation. She offers a variety of neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), dermal fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Radiesse) and other injectables (Kybella) to provide a more youthful and refreshing look for her patients. Additionally, she offers chemical peels and specialized laser treatment to help with acne scarring, melasma, sun spots and broken blood vessels.

 

In 2002, Dr. Yoo received her B.S. degree from MIT. Following graduation, she earned a Masters in Public Policy with a concentration in Health Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (2005). That same year she entered the Medical College of Virginia, earning her MD degree in 2010. During medical school Dr. Yoo took a year off to do a fellowship in Clinical Trials Research in the Department of Dermatology here at Mount Sinai (2007-2008). Dr. Yoo did her internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital (2010-2011), after which she entered the dermatology residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, successfully completing her studies in 2014.

 

During the course of her academic career she received many honors, including being named an Albert Schweitzer Fellow (2004); winning a scholarship from the Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association (2005); an award from the Korean American Scholarship Foundation; the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) Minority Medical Student Mentorship award (2006) and the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) Medical Student Awareness aware (2006); a grant from the Washington DC Dermatologic Society (2009); another grant from the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery Student Research (2010); the DermMentors Resident of Distinction award (2011); and four more awards in 2013 including the Medical Dermatologic Society Mentorship award and an International Travel grant the AAD.

 

Dr. Yoo has served on several important committees, including the AAD’s Health Care Finance Committee and its Dialogues in Dermatology program. She has also served on the WDS’s Community Service Committee.

 

 

She has served as PI for two studies funded by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and was a study coordinator for a phase 2 multicenter clinical trial. She has also coauthored 20 peer reviewed original publications and has a book chapter on laser therapy for pigmented lesions.

 

Finally, Dr. Yoo has presented at national dermatologic conferences, including the six annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, three annual meetings of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the Society for Investigative Dermatology, the American College of Physicians, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Cosmetic Surgery Forum in Las Vegas.
