About Me
Dr. Janet Hill Prystowsky is an Associate Clinical Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a board-certified dermatologist with over 30 years of experience in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. In combination with her focus on early skin cancer detection and removal, Dr. Prystowsky provides a wide range of revitalizing and rejuvenating treatments at her New York City office. She utilizes the latest technical advancements, including laser and light source devices, to help her patients obtain healthy and beautiful skin. In 2008 she started her own skin care line and is president of LIVAD Skin Care, LLC.
Dr. Prystowsky is a member of several professional organizations, including: American Academy of Dermatology, New York Academy of Medicine, New York State Society of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, The New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Medical Society of State of New York, and Dermatology Society of Greater New York.
Within these organizations, Dr. Prystowsky has held several elected positions. She has also served on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Wounds, as well as on the committee for many federal grant reviews.
Throughout her medical training and experience, Dr. Prystowsky’s work has been published in numerous articles, book chapters, reviews, abstracts and other works detailing her research in the field of dermatology.

Research
Dr. Prystowsky has published over 60 articles in peer reviewed journals and chapters in textbooks. She has published both basic science and clinical papers on multiple topics including retinoids, vitamin D, psoriasis treatment, effect of ultraviolet radiation on cultured human skin cells, chronic wound healing, artificial skin (Integra), closure of Mohs defects, ultraviolet and visible light transmission through human eyelid skin, phototherapy, and Botox.
