About Me
Janki Shah, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After completing her undergraduate studies at Boston University, she received her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she graduated with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha). She completed her residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute and subsequently pursued a fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital.
She currently serves as Director of Otolaryngology at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst Hospital, where she leads the delivery of comprehensive otolaryngologic care for a high-volume, medically complex, and culturally diverse patient population. Her clinical expertise includes complex inflammatory and neoplastic sinonasal disease, advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy, endoscopic orbital decompression, and management of cerebrospinal fluid leaks.
Dr. Shah is deeply committed to improving access to high-quality subspecialty care for underserved and vulnerable populations. She has led system-wide initiatives to expand access to advanced otolaryngology services in a safety-net hospital setting. Her academic interests focus on resident education, quality improvement, and operational innovation to reduce disparities in specialty care. Dr. Shah is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati and is committed to delivering culturally competent, patient-centered care.
