
Jashvant Poeran, MD, PhD
About Me
Jashvant Poeran MD PhD, graduated from Erasmus University School of Medicine in 2008, and completed his MSc from the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) in 2012, and his PhD from Erasmus University in 2013. He is an epidemiologist and full-time research faculty with appointments in the Department of Population Health Science and Policy, Department of Orthopedics, and Department of Medicine.
Dr. Poeran serves as the Director of the Center for Clinical and Outcomes Research, a formalized collaboration between the Department of Population Health Science and Policy and the Department of Orthopedics. He also serves as the Associate Program Director for the MS in Biomedical Science Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Poeran's research portfolio includes a wide range of topics in 1) Orthopaedic Surgery, 2) Perioperative Care/Anesthesiology, 3) Hospital Quality Improvement, 4) Sepsis, and 5) Telemedicine.
Nationally, Dr. Poeran serves on the Editorial Boards of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He also serves on the Research Committee of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
