About Me
Dr. Jean Lee joined Mount Sinai in 2025 as an Oncologist specializing in breast cancer and gynecologic malignancies. After completing her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dr. Lee earned her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then moved to the University of Oxford as a Biomedical Scholar under the National Institutes of Health to earn her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Immunology. Dr. Lee continued on to New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell for her internship and residency in Internal Medicine, followed by her fellowship in Medical Oncology with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Lee is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
As a medical oncologist, Dr. Lee's clinical focus is caring for patients with breast cancer and gynecologic malignancies, including uterine (endometrial) cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and uterine sarcomas. She is particularly passionate about caring for women who have cancers and their unique needs. In addition, with her background in immunology, she has a special interest in incorporating immunotherapy to improve oncologic treatment strategies.
In her professional community, Dr. Lee is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, NRG Oncology, and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She is also involved in academia, as she has held several teaching roles working closely with oncology fellows and medical residents in both clinical and research settings. Dr. Lee continues with this teaching work with Mount Sinai trainees as part of their medical education.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Lee is passionate about bringing innovative treatments to patients through clinical trials and improving clinical outcomes through research. Over the years, she has been involved in both clinical research and clinical trials with the goal of providing novel treatment opportunities to her patients.
When discussing her role as a physician, Dr. Lee explains, "I am dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized oncologic care, and believe in a shared decision-making approach with my patients, to ensure that every treatment plan aligns with their unique needs and goals. I cherish the relationships I build with my patients and their families. I am committed to providing the highest standard of oncologic care, with the goal of enhancing clinical outcomes and quality of life for each of my patients."
Dr. Lee is bilingual and can communicate with her patients in both English and Korean.
