About Me
Dr Chwalek is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Chwalek earned her A. B. in 1997 from Vassar College and her M.D. from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine in 2003. While in medical school, Dr. Chwalek was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and won the Eugene Sydney Bereston Award for Excellence in Dermatology. From 2003 to 2004, Dr. Chwalek did an internship in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital followed by a one-year research fellowship in dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. She did her dermatology residency at the university of Maryland Medical Center, which she completed in 2008 and served as Chief Resident during her last year. In 2006, she placed 3rd in the Young Investigators Competition for her work on contact dermatitis.
To date, Dr. Chwalek has three original publications in peer-reviewed journals and two other publications in the Archives of Dermatology and Clinica Reports. She has also presented at two meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology (2008, 2006), the 8th International Congress of Iranian Society of Dermatology in Tehran (April 2008), the International Society of Dermatopathology in Paris (2007), at the University of Maryland, Department of Medicine (2007), Pediatric Journal Club at Johns Hopkins University (2006), Grand Rounds in the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Hospital (2004), and to the Department of Toxicology at USAMRID (1997).
