About Me
Jennifer Cohen, MD is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and is the Director of Pediatric/Congenital Cardiac Computed Tomography at the Mount Sinai Children's Heart Center. She has clinical expertise in the care of the fetus, child and young adult with heart disease, with a focus on complex congenital heart disease, as well as specialty skills in echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, pediatric and/or congenital echocardiography, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, congenital cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and cardiovascular computed tomography. She graduated summa cum laud from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology. She was awarded her medical degree summa cum laude from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Cohen completed her residency at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, where she received the Edward C. Cumen award for the pediatric resident that best exemplifies compassionate patient care. She continued on to do her Pediatric Cardiology Fellow at Columbia University Medical Center, and did an advanced non-invasive imaging fellowship at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. Research
Dr. Cohen’s research efforts have focused on using advanced imaging techniques in pediatric cardiology in order to better understand ventricular function and to aid in predicting outcome. Much of this research has involved using fetal echocardiographic measurements to predict postnatal outcome, including using fetal ventricular strain measurements to predict outcome in pulmonary atresia and intact septum as well as describing the fetal echocardiographic findings associated with fetal lower urinary tract obstruction. Her research also uses advanced functional imaging including strain, torsion, and vortex flow assessment to better understand ventricular mechanics both in the fetus and child.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Cohen has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
