    Research

I am a dual fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in the care of patients with breast cancer and breast diseases, a member of the multi-disciplinary Mount Sinai Hospital Breast Center of the Tisch Cancer Institute. Over the past decade, my academic research has focused on personalizing care for patients with breast cancer and benign breast disease, and studying approaches to improve the shared decision-making process for patients with cancer. As part of these efforts, I was the Cornell site PI for cooperative group studies including the Alliance-supported COMET (Comparison of Operative to Monitoring and Endocrine Therapy) and A011202 phase III trials. My research group has contributed novel insights into personalized management of high-risk lesions of the breast (Kraft et al, Annals of Surgical Oncology 2021; Limberg et al, Annals of Surgical Oncology 2021), and evaluated trends in screening and diagnosis of cancer (Koh et al, JAMA Internal Medicine 2022; Powers et al, JAMA 2019).
