Jenny Chang, MD (She/Her) is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Assistant Medical Director of the Mount Sinai Queens Emergency Department, and the System Wellness Champion for the MSHS Emergency Medicine Service Line. Dr. Chang attended the Zucker School of Medicine, completed her residency at the Jacobi/Montefiore Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed a CORD fellowship in Wellness Leadership.
Dr. Chang brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to physician wellness and education. She has also co-led wellness and professional development initiatives, including her work with the Mount Sinai Faculty Wellness Committee and the Center for Asian Equity and Professional Development. Before joining the team at Mount Sinai Queens, she worked at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in the Emergency Department, training medical students from the Icahn School of Medicine and resident physicians from the Mount Sinai West/Main residency programs.
In her role as Assistant Medical Director and System Wellness Champion, Dr. Chang seeks to continue her mission of improving physician well-being while supporting the clinical and operational needs of her department. With her background in wellness leadership, she has already led and published on several successful initiatives such as: a peer-to-peer recognition platform aimed to reduce burnout among residents, the usage of an identification badge buddy to mitigate provider misidentification, and the integration of mobile tablets for providers to facilitate workflow. Dr. Chang aims to cultivate a supportive and positive work environment that prioritizes the well-being of our healthcare professionals. By investing in their wellness, she envisions a ripple effect that will enhance patient care to create a lasting positive impact on both our team and the lives of those we serve.
