About Me
Jenny Zhang, MD is a board-certified surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System. Her areas of expertise include bariatric, hernia, foregut, and general surgery. She specializes in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Dr. Zhang earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University with a major in Molecular Biology and a minor in Global Health and Health Policy. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and she completed her general surgery residency at Brown University/ Rhode Island Hospital. She then pursued a fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System.
She is active in teaching and research. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is interested in enhancing medical student and resident education. She is a member of several professional organizations including American College of Surgeons, Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Zhang is dedicated to providing excellent and comprehensive care to her patients.
