About Me
Dr. Ji Yoon Yoon joined Mount Sinai Doctors as a Gastroenterologist in 2025. She earned her undergraduate degree (BA, Medical Sciences) and medical degree (BM BCh) at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) and moved to the US to complete an Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Yoon then completed her Gastroenterology training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she also served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Yoon additionally completed a Master’s in Clinical Research (MSCR) and a Research Fellowship in Cancer Prevention and Control in Priority Populations (NIH T32) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Yoon is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Yoon specializes in a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, both acute and chronic. Her research interests focus on gastrointestinal cancers, including gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, pre-cancerous lesions, and H. pylori. Her research is supported by the American Cancer Society Clinician Scientist Development Grant.
In her professional community, Dr. Yoon is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. She is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Dr. Henry D. Janowitz Division of Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Yoon is originally from Seoul, South Korea, and is a native Korean speaker.
