
Jiahan Zhang, PhD
About Me
Dr. Jiahan Zhang joined Mount Sinai in 2023 as an Assistant Professor of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He has experience in various areas, including external beam treatment planning, brachytherapy, and machine and patient-specific quality assurance.
Dr. Zhang has been actively involved in research projects, with a focus on artificial intelligence applications in radiation therapy treatment planning and machine learning-based adaptive radiotherapy treatments. Dr. Zhang has received recognition for his contributions to the scientific community, including awards such as the AAPM Science Council Award in 2019, AAPM Best in Physics in 2020, and the George Starkschall Award of Excellence for Outstanding Radiation Oncology Physics Article in 2021.
In addition to clinical work and research development, Dr. Zhang is also committed to serving the broader medical physics community by active participation in AAPM committees and serving as a reviewer and associate editor for peer-reviewed journals.
