About Me

Jihan Ryu is an Instructor of Psychiatry in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a clinician faculty member in the Center for Computational Psychiatry. He graduated from Dartmouth College with AB in Biological Sciences and History of Science, Medicine, and Technology, and obtained MD at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He completed clinical psychiatry residency training at Mount Sinai Morningside and West Hospitals.

Dr. Ryu investigates natural language, behavioral, and neural markers embedded in patient-psychotherapist interactions using computational methods to develop precisely targeted therapy treatment monitoring tools. Currently, he is a clinician in the translational research team collaborating at the interface of computational neuroscience and clinical psychiatry. The aim of the project (1R01MH123069-01A1) is to identify model-based functional neuroimaging markers underlying naturalistic interpersonal behaviors in personality disorder populations, living with heavy burden of impaired social decision making.
