About Me

Dr. Joel Rowe is an Instructor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine, as well as an Emergency Medicine attending physician at Mount Sinai Health System.  He joined the Mount Sinai faculty after completing residency training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in 2023. Dr. Rowe  is the current recipient of the Dr. John Conley Graduate Medical Education Bioethics Scholarship for master’s degree study in clinical bioethics at Clarkson University and serves on the ethics committees for both Mount Sinai Hospital and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. Dr. Rowe is passionate about continued scholarship in reproductive justice and structured clinical ethics education for emergency clinicians, and has published work in outlets such as The Atlantic magazine and Academic Emergency Medicine. He is a proud graduate of the Stony Brook University (Renaissance) School of Medicine and received a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from Fordham University prior to pursuing a career in medicine.
