John K. Cordero, MD
Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery
About Me
At The Orthopedic Center at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Union Square, I specialize in hip and knee reconstruction. My expertise includes:
• Minimally invasive hip and knee surgery (MIS)
• Direct anterior and mini-posterior approaches to hip replacement
• Computer navigation and robotic-assisted surgery
• Partial knee replacement
• Complex hip and knee revision surgery
• Management of infected hip and knee replacements
• Periprosthetic hip and knee fracture surgery
With the growing demand for hip and knee replacement procedures, my goal is to deliver the highest standard of care and achieve the best possible outcomes for every patient.
My research focuses on complex primary and revision total hip and knee replacements, emphasizing rapid recovery, outpatient joint replacement, opioid-sparing surgical pathways, and robotic-assisted total joint replacement. I have authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and regularly present at national meetings. I am an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
