About Me
Dr. John T. Kulesa is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Health System Design and Global Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. Dr. Kulesa earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and received his medical degree from Upstate Medical University. During his pediatric residency at Children’s National Hospital, he earned a Certificate in Global Child Health for his work in Maseru, Lesotho. He went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Children’s National Hospital, during which time he earned his Master of Arts in Education and Human Development. He then completed a Global Clinical Education Fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital, working as a pediatric hospitalist and medical educator for Seed Global Health in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Dr. Kulesa practices at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital as a pediatric hospital medicine attending physician. His primary research focuses on academic global health partnerships, decolonization, the intersection of culture and learning, quality improvement, and various aspects of health system strengthening.
