About Me
John Thomas, MD, evaluates and treats conditions of the upper extremity including the thumb, fingers, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He is board certified in hand surgery and specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the hand. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in general surgery at the Albany Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in plastic surgery of the hand and a fellowship in hand and microsurgery research both at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Thomas has been caring for patients in Queens for more than 10 years. His clinical interests include treating traumatic injuries, burns, fractures, tendon injuries, arthritis, carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, tenosynovitis and sprains.
Dr. Thomas holds several professional memberships including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American College of Surgeons, and the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was selected as the Young Leader for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand as part of its leadership development program.
