About Me
Jonas A. Adalsteinsson, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Director of Autoimmune Blistering Diseases and Director of Dermato-epidemiology in the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai. He completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Connecticut following a postdoctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. During his fellowship and residency, he cultivated a special clinical interest in inpatient medical dermatology and other inflammatory skin disease, specifically autoimmune bullous disease, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
Dr. Adalsteinsson is a current member of the JAAD case reports editorial board, as well as a participant in the editorial mentorship program at the Journal of the American Association of Dermatology. In addition he was a member of the American Academy of Dermatology Mohs Appropriate Use Committee until 2023. He completed his PhD at the University of Iceland, focusing on skin cancer epidemiology. He has received awards for his research, which focuses on the epidemiology of skin disease, genealogy, and patient attributes that can potentially increase skin cancer risk.
