About Me

Joseph DiNorcia, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine and the Surgical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation in the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital.

Dr. DiNorcia specializes in adult and pediatric hepatobiliary, pancreas, and abdominal organ transplant surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

Dr. DiNorcia received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and graduate degree cum laude from Georgetown University before completing his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine where he received the James A. Cahill Award for excellence in surgery and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his general surgery residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University Medical Center where he served as administrative chief resident. He then completed specialty training in abdominal organ transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.

From 2014-2017, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California where he practiced adult and pediatric hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and abdominal organ transplantation at Keck-USC, LA County-USC, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Prior to joining Mt. Sinai as faculty, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles where he practiced adult and pediatric hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Mattel Children’s Hospital. His clinical and research interests include adult and pediatric liver surgery and transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, and vascular resection and reconstruction for advanced hepatobiliary and pancreas cancers.
