About Me
Joseph M. Sweeny, MD, is Director of the Lauder Family Cardiovascular Ambulatory Center of Mount Sinai Heart at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
Since 2009, Dr. Sweeny has been a leading interventional cardiologist at the world-renowned Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of Mount Sinai and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Cardiology, at Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Sweeny specializes in patient care and research in the field of interventional cardiology. He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. Also, he currently serves as Mount Sinai’s Director of the Cardiology Telemetry Nurse Practitioner Service and Associate Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program.
Dr. Sweeny first joined Mount Sinai in 2005 as a fellow in cardiology where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow, and later completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Sweeny completed his internal medicine residency at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Sweeny studied at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree.
