Joe Ruggiero PhD is a clinical psychologist who is currently working in the faculty practice and seeing clients for evaluation, and individual and couples work. He is also looking to start some psychotherapy groups. Specialty areas include substance misuse, methamphetamine addiction, working with LGBT clients, mood disorders as well as other issues. He is a co-founder and former Director of the Crystal Clear Program which addresses methamphetamine use in gay and bisexual men. He did oversee outaptient care at Addiction Institute for almost 25 years and currently supervises the group leaders of the crystal program and psychology interns and fellows. He has written on different areas of his work and has done many talks at conferences, grand rounds, and other forums. He is a candidate at the NYU Postdoctoral Porgram for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
