About Me

Joshua M Lampert, MD, joined the Cardiovascular Institute, Mount Sinai Heart as a fulltime faculty in July 2023, in the role of Assistant Professor of Medicine. After graduating medical school as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, he completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. He then completed both his fellowship in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Lampert was a recipient of the Mount Sinai Physician of the Year award in 2021 and has been recognized on multiple occasions for delivering exceptional patient care by the Patient Comments Committee. His clinical dedication is focused on the care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias including catheter-based treatment of atrial fibrillation, complex atrial flutters, supraventricular tachycardias, and ventricular arrhythmias.
Dr. Lampert is an Electrophysiologist and Medical Director of Machine Learning for Mount Sinai Heart. His research focus includes the application of novel artificial intelligence methods to improve patient care, treatment, diagnosis, risk stratification, and procedural guidance. His work has been published in high impact journals such as his development of a novel algorithm to predict which patients with PVCs, go on to develop weak hearts. His research also focuses on atrial fibrillation, assessing stroke risk, the development of large language models, leadless pacing, and novel catheter-based technologies.
