About Me
Dr. Julie Schoonover is a board-certified family medicine physician and graduate of the Institute’s Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine. She completed an ECRIP (Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program) fellowship focusing on music therapy for substance use disorders. Dr. Schoonover is now a faculty member at the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine and assistant professor of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in Comparative Literature and Society and studied medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
