About Me

Justin Pick, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist working as the Director of Pediatric Cardiology at BronxCare Health System and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital.  He received his Bachelor of Science at Tufts University in Medford Massachusetts.  He was accepted through an early application program to Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts where he received his Medical Doctorate. Upon graduation, he moved to Orange County, California for his pediatrics residency at the University of California-Irvine/Children’s Hospital of Orange County.  Following graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, California for his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. 

Dr. Pick is a general pediatric cardiologist who has a focus on diagnostic, fetal echocardiography.  His passion is not only in the diagnosis of congenital heart disease but also in the management of such patients starting from before birth through late adolescence/early adulthood.       

Research Focus
Dr. Justin Pick’s research focus is in the area of fetal cardiology.  He has evaluated the risk factors for pacemaker placement in fetuses exposed to mothers with SSA (Sjogren Syndrome Antigen A) and SSB (Sjogren Syndrome Antigen B) antibodies.  This work has been presented at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine 40th Annual Pregnancy Meeting and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Symposium in 2020. 

Dr. Pick has also written a brief report on a disproportionately high number of coronary aneurysms from MIS-C seen in the Los Angeles region, which has been presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Session in 2020
He wrote a proof of concept paper for a telemedicine-based app and was a finalist in the University of California-Irvine Paul Merage Business School competition.  A manuscript was later published in the Journal of Pediatrics and Neonatal Care. 

Dr. Pick also wrote a case report in Cardiology in the Young on a rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy called Fukuyama Muscular Dystrophy that discusses the management and progression of heart failure in these patients in the second decade of life.
