After graduating with her medical degree from Chung-ang University College of Medicine in South Korea, Dr. Rhee completed her residency in Pathology at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then moved to Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island - Brown Medical School for her residency in Internal Medicine. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rhee has written a multitude of publications and given several presentations both in the US and South Korea.

When discussing her pathway into medicine, Dr. Rhee explains "I come from a family of physicians; my paternal grandfather was a cardiologist and professor at a medical school in the 1940s, and two of my paternal uncles are physicians. It’s rewarding to see patients get better and it is a privilege to be a part of it." In her free time, Dr. Rhee enjoys playing tennis and going to the beach.
