Katherine Guttmann, MD

About Me
Katherine Guttmann, MD, is an Assistant Professor and an attending neonatologist in the Division of Newborn Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine and the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. She is also faculty in the Mindich Child Health and Development Institute. She completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania followed by residency and fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she also served as Chief Fellow. In addition to attending in the NICU, Dr. Guttmann conducts research focusing on ethics and communication with families. Additional academic interests include Neonatal Palliative Care and Research Ethics. She holds a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania which informs her work. She is committed to understanding and improving the family experience of NICU hospitalization.
