About Me
Dr. Kasey Komperda is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee and hip.
A native of Chicago, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where his training ranged from the care of Division 1 athletes to victims of high-energy trauma. As chief resident, he also served as a member of the executive medical staff committee for the Temple University Hospital system. He went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at Congress Orthopaedic Associates in Pasadena, California, where he studied advanced arthroscopic techniques and open shoulder surgery.
While his special interests include sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction, Dr. Komperda treats a variety of orthopedic conditions including adult fractures, trauma, and common painful conditions of the hand, foot and ankle. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals and continues to have an interest in clinical and translational research. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His interests outside of the office include skiing, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
