About Me

Dr. Kevin Small, a board-certified plastic surgeon, is a well-known innovator and educator in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has a proficiency in the wide breath of plastic surgery including craniofacial procedures, breast reconstruction, trunk reconstruction, and lower extremity reconstruction. He has additional training and specialization in breast and body contouring, post-bariatric body contouring, facial aesthetic surgery, and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures (injectables, laser therapy, etc.).

Dr. Small has received numerous honors and awards in academics, teaching and research excellence from the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation. Dr. Small has presented his innovative research at local, national, and international meetings; he has innumerable original manuscripts and book chapters in multiple peer-reviewed collections including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

Dr. Small is from Nashville, Tennessee, and received his B.A. in Classics with honors from Washington University in St. Louis in May 2004. Dr. Small received his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine in May 2008. He completed the combined plastic surgery residency program at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan in June 2014, and an aesthetic surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas in June 2015. Dr. Small is a former Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and was appointed as the Director of Plastic Surgery at New York Bariatric Group in February 2017. Dr. Small is married to Stephanie Kalikow Small, and they have a son, Lucas.
