About Me
Kimberly Song MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Song was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated with honors from Columbia University in the City of New York. She earned a master’s degree from Boston University and received her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where she stayed to complete a five-year residency program in General Surgery and completed a critical care research fellowship. During this time, she was nominated for several teaching awards and her research resulted in multiple publications and presentations at national scientific conferences.
Dr. Song completed her Cardiothoracic Surgery training, focused on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She specializes in minimally invasive video assisted (VATS) and robot assisted thoracoscopic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the lung, esophagus, thymus, and mediastinum.
Dr. Song has participated in several international medical and humanitarian relief efforts to Central America and South Asia. She is double board certified in general and cardiothoracic surgery and currently sees patients in Manhattan and Staten Island.
