About Me
Dr. Kira Manusis, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology, cornea and external disease, anterior segment reconstruction, and laser vision correction. She has extensive expertise in advanced refractive and cataract procedures, including PRK, IntraLase LASIK, premium intraocular lens implantation, laser-assisted cataract surgery, astigmatism correction, and corneal transplantation. Dr. Manusis specializes in penetrating keratoplasty and Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), as well as cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation, including multifocal and toric lenses. Her clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of laser vision correction, premium intraocular implants, and advanced corneal and anterior segment surgery.
Dr. Manusis graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College (CUNY) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her undergraduate studies, she received multiple academic honors, including the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Honors Scholarship and the Salk Scholarship. She earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Harkness Eye Institute at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University. Dr. Manusis is a member of the full-time Ophthalmology faculty at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where she is actively involved in resident education and surgical training.
