Dr. Koji Park is an attending surgeon in the Division of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West Hospitals. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Park is a board certified general surgeon and fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He was born in Matsuyama, Japan, and raised in New York. He graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Psychology.
Dr. Park obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY and completed his postgraduate residency training in general surgery here at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Medical Center. He went on to complete a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Yale University before returning to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West.
Dr. Koji Park has published widely in the fields of minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. His research accomplishments earned him a nomination for the John Halverson Young Investigator Award by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. During his last year of residency, he received the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons’ Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Achievement Award, as well as the Department of Surgery’s Chief Resident of the Year Award.
