Kristaq Koci, DO

Dr. Koci is a board-certified rheumatologist who has been caring for adult patients at Mount Sinai for more than five years. He provides care at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West in both outpatient and hospital settings.
The conditions he treats include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis and other forms of spondyloarthritis, scleroderma, vasculitis, inflammatory muscle diseases, gout, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis. He also performs in-office ultrasound-guided knee injections and aspirations.
Dr. Koci believes that effective care begins with listening to each patient and developing a treatment plan together. He takes a thoughtful, individualized approach to understanding each patient’s symptoms, establishing an accurate diagnosis, and creating a care plan that reflects their needs and goals. He provides ongoing management for both acute and chronic rheumatologic conditions, with an emphasis on helping patients better understand and manage their health.

In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as Quality Improvement Co-Chief for the Division of Rheumatology, where he contributes to initiatives focused on improving the quality and delivery of patient care. He is also actively involved in medical education, teaching and mentoring residents and rheumatology fellows.
