About Me
Kristen Kelly, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Interim Medical Director for The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department.
In this role, Dr. Kelly is responsible for the daily clinical operations of The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department, as well as for longer term strategic planning for clinical, administrative and financial initiatives. She work's closely with faculty and residents to enhance Departmental efficiency while focusing on providing positive employee and patient experiences.
Since joining Mount Sinai, Kristen has served as an Associate Medical Director for the MSH ED, leading process improvement efforts for the department with a particular focus on quality and safety. Additionally, she serves on the Hospital Clinical Review Committee and was selected to participate in the NY ACEP Opportunities for Women in Leadership program.
Dr. Kelly graduated from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed emergency medicine residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital/Elmhurst, serving as chief resident. Prior to medical school, she worked in humanitarian aid focusing on disaster response in Central and South America. Dr. Kelly is fluent in Spanish.
