About Me

Laila N. Menon, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and practices gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Doctors Queens and The Mount Sinai Hospital. After earning a bachelor’s degree in public health, she went on to complete a Master of Biological Sciences degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she gained foundational knowledge in biomedical sciences. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology, both at the SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital. During residency, she treated a wide range of medical conditions in a fast paced, busy academic institution.

Dr. Menon provides specialized care in gastroenterology and treats patients with various conditions of the digestive system. She is sensitive to the discomfort caused by many gastrointestinal diseases and makes a point of engaging patients sympathetically throughout diagnosis and treatment. By working with patients over time, she helps them improve the management strategies of complicated conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and liver diseases while optimizing quality of life and patient satisfaction.
