About Me

Dr. Lauren Zinns attended Drexel University College of Medicine and graduated in 2007.  She completed a Pediatric Residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2010 and a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C in 2013.  Prior to returning to Mount Sinai as a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Zinns was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia from 2013 to 2016.  Dr. Zinns’ research has been focused on debriefing after medical resuscitations.  She has published several peer-reviewed publications on the topic and has presented both regionally and nationally.  She also heads the debriefing program in the Emergency Department at Mount Sinai Hospital.  Additionally, Dr. Zinns has been involved in quality improvement initiatives on a hospital-wide basis.  She serves on the Mount Sinai system-wide Emergency Department Safety committee as well as the monthly Pediatric Quality Improvement Committee.  Dr. Zinns is fluent in English and conversant in Spanish.
