
Lea K Marin, MD, MPH
About Me
Dr. Lea Marin is Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center, where she leads clinical services for older adults and advances innovative approaches to the psychiatric care of aging populations. She also serves as Associate Program Director of the Mount Sinai Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship and as Associate Program Director for the Mount Sinai Psychiatry Residency. In these roles, she provides leadership in curriculum development, mentorship, and training, helping shape the next generation of psychiatrists.
Dr. Marin earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she also completed her residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. She is board-certified in both Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Her academic and research interests span geriatric psychiatry, suicide prevention among older adults, and the integration of psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy for complex conditions. She has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally on suicide safety planning and caregiver-focused interventions.
Dr. Marin is recognized for her commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care, and for her leadership in advancing both patient outcomes and medical education.
