Lina Miyakawa, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Miyakawa attended New York University for her undergraduate studies and received her medical degree from John A. Burns School of Medicine at University of Hawaii, from her hometown in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, affiliated with Stanford University in California and her specialty fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City.
Dr. Miyakawa’s clinical and research interests lie in medical education, point of care ultrasound and high flow nasal oxygen in the critically ill. Her abstracts have been presented at regional and international conferences including, American Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians. She has served as regional and international faculty to teach critical care ultrasound through the American College of Chest Physicians. She serves on several hospital wide committees including the Critical Care Coordinating Committee and the Code and Rapid Response Team Committee.
