Lucy W Gordon, MD
About Me
Dr. Gordon graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Yale, received a medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed her residency at NYU School of Medicine. She joined the faculty at Elmhurst in 2007 after residency, and has been an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program since 2012.
As a practicing primary care physician, Dr. Gordon values long-term relationships with her patients and the opportunity to help patients live healthier lives by providing preventive care and managing chronic diseases. She enjoys working with a diverse, underserved patient population. She oversees the resident experience in Ambulatory Care, and through precepting and teaching she strives to foster resident understanding of the crucial role of primary care in the health system. Dr. Gordon also serves as an Ombuds for faculty, residents and students at Elmhurst.
Dr. Gordon’s areas of interest include preventive care, cancer screening, wellness, and population health. She teaches residents about quality improvement in ambulatory care, and her work has been presented at both regional and national conferences. She is a past recipient of teaching awards for precepting and innovations in teaching. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Gordon grew up in New York and Connecticut and enjoys spending summer weekends with her family at the CT shoreline. In her free time she likes to exercise and explore her neighborhood in the East Village.
