About Me
Dr. Mahmoud Aly has practiced Oncologic Medicine since 1994 and joined Mount Sinai in 2018. After completing his undergraduate studies at Cairo University in Egypt, Dr. Aly earned his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat, West Indies. He then moved to the US for his residency in Internal Medicine at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center before completing his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Aly is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. He has worked in Staten Island for over 28 years, of which he spent 15 years serving as Division Chief of Hem/Onc at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) and Site Director for the New York Medical College fellowship program in Valhalla, NY.
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Aly acts as the Medical Director of Mount Sinai Cancer Staten Island and the Director of Cancer Network Development for Staten Island and Monmouth County, New Jersey. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Protocol Advisory Board for the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Dr. Aly is actively involved in the training of Hem/Onc attendings who now hold key positions in strong institutions, including Mount Sinai, and has been involved in research areas within his field.
