About Me

Manan Krishnamurthy joined the MD-PhD program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2023. He graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2021, working in Dr. Mitch McVey’s lab to investigate regulators of DNA double strand break repair in Drosophila melanogaster. After graduating, he spent two years at the National Institutes of Health in Dr. Anish Thomas’ lab studying metastatic organotropism in small cell lung cancer.

As an MSTP student, Manan serves on the Mount Sinai Institutional Review Board, is a peer educator, and leads Chemotherapy Companions, a program that provides social support to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. He also serves as a postbaccalaureate research education program (PREP) mentor, assists with MSTP admissions, and has served as the NYDOCS representative for the community engagement section of EHHOP, Mount Sinai’s student run clinic.

After completing the pre-clinical phase of medical school, Manan will join Dr. Daniel Puleston’s lab in the Department of Immunology to study how metabolic factors shape immune function in cancer.

Outside of lab and the hospital, Manan loves watching movies, playing soccer, and exploring bars and coffee shops in the city.
