About Me
Dr. Marco Yeung is an Orthopedic Surgeon at Mount Sinai Health System and Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Yeung received his undergraduate studies at McMaster University. He went on to complete his medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at McMaster University, the birthplace of evidence-based medicine. He served as chief resident in his final year, and was responsible for administrative duties, as well as education of junior residents and medical students. He obtained further training in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC), where he studied advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques of the shoulder, knee and hip. He acquired extensive experience as an assistant team physician with the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), as well as providing medical coverage for the Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL) and various Division I college teams at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. Subsequently, he completed a further subspecialty training in trauma and lower extremity reconstruction at Sunnybrook Health Sciences, a level 1 trauma center.
Dr. Yeung also has interest in outcome-based research in Sports Medicine, arthroscopic surgery and lower extremity trauma. He has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, contributed to book chapters, and has delivered podium and poster presentations on the national and international stage. Dr. Yeung is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Yeung is committed to providing quality evidence-based care to all of his patients, educating and informing them on non-surgical and surgical treatments alike.
