Marianna Vinokur, DO

Marianna Vinokur, DO is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Drexel University Pennoni Honors College. During her time there, she completed a three year research thesis centered on establishing a Drosophila model of Alzheimer’s Disease. She attended medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed neurology residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She served as chief resident through the COVID-19 pandemic and received accolades for clinical and research excellence from the Allegheny Health Network Research Consortium and Pennsylvania Neurologic Society. She completed a fellowship in Headache Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals where she was heavily involved in migraine advocacy and helped establish a pipeline program to help break barriers to headache disorder care for patients with financial hardship.

Dr. Vinokur’s clinical practice is with ISMMS’s Center for Headache and Pain at Faculty Practice Associates. Her clinical focus includes chronic migraine, cluster headache, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, and secondary headache disorders. She is dedicated to providing clinically excellent, holistic, and compassionate care to meet the unique needs of her patients.

Dr. Vinokur has an interest in studying the use of ketamine for treatment refractory headache disorders, as well as the crossover between headache disorders and comorbidities such as autoimmune disorder and functional neurologic disorders. This work has led to both original research, publication in various neurology journals, as well as online publications. She has presented at various conferences including the meetings for the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Headache Society.
