About Me

Dr. Mark Creighton began practicing as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in 1997 and joined Mount Sinai in 2023. After completing his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, Dr. Creighton earned his doctorate degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of Iowa before moving to the University of Colorado for his fellowship in Sports Medicine. In addition to his certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Creighton is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners. His clinical interests include sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, fracture healing, and general orthopedics.

In his professional community, Dr. Creighton is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the NYS Trooper Police Surgeons, as well as the Stanford University Alumni Association. In the past, Dr. Creighton has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at both NYU Langone Medical Center and Stonybrook University Medical Center.

During his career, Dr. Creighton has engaged in clinical research in his field of orthopedics. His research topics include the use of bone morphogenetic protein in fracture healing, the use of continuous passive motion after ACL reconstruction, and the use of ultrasound to accelerate fracture healing. He also has been published in prestigious medical journals, such as his work Cemented Total Hip Arthroplasty in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Minimum Ten Year Follow-up published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
