Martha R Arden, MD
Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine
About Me
Dr. Arden is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Medical School. She completed her pediatrics residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital and then went on to a three-year adolescent medicine fellowship at Schneider Children's Hospital of Long Island-Jewish Medical Center (now known as Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health). After completion of her fellowship, Dr. Arden remained at Schneider Children’s Hospital, where she developed and directed the school-based health center program. While at North Shore LIJ, Dr Arden was an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, director of school-based health services, chair of the Institutional Review Board, and attending physician. In 2008, Dr. Arden left hospital-based work to open a solo adolescent medicine consultation practice on Long Island, where she specialized in the treatment of menstrual disorders, eating disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, and routine adolescent gynecologic care. While operating her own private practice, she also worked part-time in the US Merchant 20Marine Academy student health center and the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital Division of Adolescent Medicine. Dr Arden joined the Mount Sinai faculty in 2016 as medical director of the school-based health program. She serves as chair of the Medical Student Promotions Committee at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics subspecialty board in Adolescent Medicine and was a member of the Society of Adolescent Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
