About Me
Dr. Martin Maurer is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Site Chair for Psychiatry for Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West..Dr. Maurer has been employed by Mount Sinai since 1990. He received his MD at Hahnemann Medical University (now Drexel School of Medicine) and completed Psychiatry Residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Prior to coming to Mount Sinai West and Morningside, he has held various administrative psychiatry roles including Associate Director of Psychiatric Outpatient Services at Beth Israel, Director of the Ambulatory Behavioral Health Service at Elmhurst Hospital, Deputy Director of Psychiatry at Elmhurst Hospital and Director of Psychiatry at Queens Hospital Center. He has devoted his career to education, increasing access to mental health care, development of integrated as well as collaborative care models, and the engagement of people with Schizophrenia in care. He has won numerous teaching awards and has been board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
