About Me
Dr. Matthew Goldberg is an Assistant Professor in Dermatology and Pathology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Goldberg graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University and received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he graduated with distinction in research. Dr. Goldberg completed Dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern with Dr. Clay Cockerell. Prior to joining the Mount Sinai Dermatology faculty, Dr. Goldberg directed Dermatopathology education for the MedStar Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center dermatology residency program. He was also the recipient of the Georgetown University School of Medicine’s Dr. Michael Adams Award for dedication and commitment to medical education.
Dr. Goldberg has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and has lectured at national academic conferences, such as the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society of Dermatopathology. His clinical and research interests include skin cancer screening, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis herpetiformis, alopecia, preventive dermatology, melanoma and dermatopathology resident education. He was a prior recipient of two American Skin Association grants for the study of melanoma epigenetics and is collaborating at Mount Sinai on cutting edge research related to translational applications of basic science research and digital pathology.
