Allergy and Immunology
Mauli Desai, MD is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of allergic and immunologic disorders in adults and children. These conditions include allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, eczema, urticaria, food allergy, drug allergy, immunodeficiency, and more.
Dr. Desai is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY, at which time she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Desai completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, followed by a year of pulmonary/critical care training at Columbia University. She went on to complete her fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Rutgers University, where she served as Chief Fellow. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Desai is active in many medical professional societies, including the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and she holds several professional leadership positions. Notably, she is the past President of the New Jersey Allergy Society. Dr. Desai is actively involved in clinical research, is on the editorial board of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and has published many articles and spoken extensively on the topic of severe asthma and its comorbidities.
