About Me
Melissa Lozano, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside and an Assistant Professor in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Lozano’s practice focuses on general gynecology, with special interest in preventative gynecological care, abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception for birth control as well as control of common gynecological care, and hormone replacement therapy.
Dr. Lozano joined Mount Sinai as an obstetrics and gynecology resident at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai West after obtaining her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University. She also earned a Master’s degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Graduate Medical Sciences.
Dr. Lozano has a demonstrated interest in the teaching and training of OB/GYN residents. She currently serves as Assistant Program Director of the OB/GYN Residency at Mount Sinai West and is a resident mentor. She is a member of the Obstetrics Quality Improvement Committee at Mount Sinai and is a three-time recipient of Mount Sinai’s STAR award for her commitment to the Mount Sinai Health System’s values and service principles. Dr Lozano has also been appointed as Faculty Wellness Champion for the OB/GYN department, where she aims to improve Faculty wellness while working in conjunction with departmental leadership.
