About Me
Michael Fara, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an attending physician at the Mount Sinai Stroke Center. Dr. Fara received his medical degree from Weill Cornell College of Medicine in 2013. He went on to complete internship, neurology residency training, and a vascular neurology fellowship at NYU School of Medicine.
Dr. Fara's academic interests center on improving systems of stroke care as a means of maximizing the quality of care given to patients suffering from stroke. As Interim Director of the Mount Sinai Stroke Center he is actively involved in efforts to ensure that Mount Sinai's patients receive the best treatment for stroke and related disorders. Additionally, he has a strong interest in medical education, helping to train the physicians of the future. He was previously Director of the Clerkship in Neurology for students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and he received teaching awards from graduating neurology residents in 2019 and 2021.
