Dr Michael Falk is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine He has been an attending physician in the Emergency Medicine in the Pediatric Emergency Room at the Mount Sinai St Luke's Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. He has worked in the Emergency Department at St Luke's since 2010 and has been the Director of ED Simulation and the ED Simulation Fellowship since July of 2014.
Dr Falk was the Co-Founder of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Basecamp Simulation training course for first year Pediatric EM fellows from programs representing the Northeast Region of the United States and has been core faculty for this course since it's inception in 2010. He has been core faculty for the ACEP Simulation-based Immersive Medical Course and has developed a number of the pediatric simulation-based scenarios that are used to train community ED doctors for this course. He is a member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Sim Academy and is the co-chair for the Fellows Forum for the 2015 SAEM Conference in San Diego.
Prior to his career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Dr Falk completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine and Violence Prevention at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. He worked for over 4 years in this field and worked extensively with law enforcement, the Coroner's office and governmental agencies in the Greater Toronto area (in Ontario, Canada) on issues of youth violence and gang prevention strategies.

Dr Falk is currently involed in research in the following areas: using simulation to train and assess prehospital providers; using simulation-based disaster training to trian ER residents and hospital staff; and utilization of the Pediatric Emergency Room by the public schools for psychiatric evaluations.
